Lori grew up in rural Pennsylvania and studied visual communications and graphic design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Having lived in eight states, her career as a photo stylist has taken her throughout the country, where she’s collected inspiration.
Joseph collaborated with photographers Tim O’Hara and Terry Wild to create the “Homestead Collection,” a framed touring collection of images with poetry, exhibited in Wyoming, Massachusetts, and Maryland. In 2020, Joseph published My Embrace, her first book of inspiring stories, thoughts, and poems about living with fear, compassion, humor, and love.
The first time I circulated my poetry manuscript to friends, their immediate response was, "You're brave." Honestly, bravery never crossed my mind. I simply felt like I was delivering the news.
Joseph’s poetry has been published by The National League of American Pen Women, Like Sunshine After Rain anthology, Pen In Hand Literary Journal of the Maryland Writers’ Assoc., NWG anthology, Voices From The Plains 2nd Edition, How it Looks from Here Poetry from the Plains, the Open Window Review, Clerestory Poetry Journal of the Mountain West and the Union Pacific Railroad.
She has also written and produced a series of inspirational messages that have aired on the radio and podcasts. Joseph co-founded The Ashes to Art Project, a national campaign bringing artists together to benefit volunteer fire departments fighting wildfires.
